- IMAX signs with China’s Lumière Pavilions
IMAX Corporation and Lumière Pavilions, one of the fastest-growing private movie exhibition chains in China, announced an agreement to install three digital IMAX theatre systems in the People’s Republic of China.
- Ballantyne Strong to expand screen production facility
Ballantyne Strong has completed the acquisition of the Joliette, Quebec facility that houses its Strong/MDI cinema screen manufacturing operations, as well as an adjacent parcel of land. Strong/MDI previously leased the facility.

Regional general contractor Benning Construction Company was selected by Georgia Theatre Company to build a 10-screen cinema in Pooler, Georgia.

Chinese film group Huayi Brothers premiered its latest production, Tangshan Earthquake, in Tangshan, China, using Barco’s DP2K-32B Series II digital-cinema projectors.
